G-Space, Inc. is the exclusive provider of a premium suite of Heavy Metal Fluoride materials—including ZBLAN, InF₃, and more—from our esteemed French partner, Le Verre Fluoré. These advanced materials offer a range of unique properties, making them ideal for cutting-edge applications:

  • Superior transmittance in the 0.2 micrometers in the UV to 7 micrometers in the IR
    Nearly all organic compounds are active over this range, more so in the region of this spectrum where fluoride fibers and glasses have the ability to “fine tune” best.

  • Low Refractive Index (n=1.50)
    This is important because the lower the refractive index the faster light/information travels through that material

  • Low Dispersion
    Meaning, most of the signal transmitted through these fibers is recovered at the other end, including over long distances. The pulses of information are kept sharp, reducing signal degradation.

  • Low and negative temperature dependence of refractive index (dn/dT) One other major drawback of silica for example is that for every degree it is heated the wavelength will shift. That’s just not the case for fluoride.

The above properties position fluoride products as enablers in emerging sensing applications due to their unmatched supercontinuum performance as well as in signal transmission due to their broadband and low latency.
